We offer graduate and undergraduate degrees and certificate programs.  Our graduates pursue advanced degrees, or enter a variety of practice, research and administrative roles in the health and human services fields. Our high quality, innovative educational programs include opportunities for distance education and for study abroad.

Research is ongoing in a number of areas including health services research, effects of physical activity on health, promoting healthy individuals and communities, and research with specific chronic illnesses. The health and human services fields demand that professionals maintain cutting edge knowledge, and we are actively engaged in the advancement of knowledge of the basic mechanisms underlying health and illness, and improving the delivery of health and human services. 

Community leadership is an important aspect of our college mission and faculty members are active in community service.

We are thrilled by our new 138,000 square foot, $34 million College of Health and Human Services Building.  Completed in 2006, the building is the fourth largest on campus and has more classrooms than any other building on campus.  All classrooms, conference rooms and laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art instructional technology.  Except for the Department of Kinesiology, which has ample space in Belk Gymnasium, the College resides in our beautiful eponymous building.
