Upper Class Council gives Noble Niner Plaque
as gift for Senior Class
The Upper Class Council of UNC Charlotte has decided to display the Noble Niner Code in the Student Union as a gift to the senior class.
The Noble Niner Code is an honor code created and drafted by the SGA. It was an effort of previous Student Body President, Ben Comstock’s and Student Body Vice President, Jordan Van Dyne platform as they ran for office and was signed by Chancellor Phillip Dubois in the Spring of 2007.
The Upper Council agreed that the Student Union, the future center of campus, was prime location for display. This location will allow students to be able to read and better understand exactly what the Noble Niner Code is and what it means to be a part of UNC Charlotte.
Serge Severenchuck, Senior Class President, proposed the idea and the rest of the council agreed. The council chose from specific locations in the Student Union for display and came to an agreement that the best place for display would be the on the brick wall outside of Starbucks, in hopes that this will encourage students to come and view the plaque. Dimension wise, the plaque will probably be around 3 x 5 feet.
The plaque is designed to appeal to all groups on campus and continue in building a sense of unity among students. The Upper Class council hopes the plaque will further increase pride in UNC Charlotte, as well as encourage all students to follow the code. Click here to read the UNC Charlotte honor code.
